“Both Shu's hairstyle and features give him an air of refinement. Contrasting other characters, the line of his double eyelid is closer to his eyes, giving it the impression of being a hidden double eyelid. To give him a more aesthetic appearance, I shortened the distance between his eyes and eyebrows and thickened the outer corner of his eye line. The blouse with frills that he wears under his uniform jacket has remained unchanged since his initial design.”

There are already other characters with slanted eyes and short black hair, so I was conscious about giving him some noticeable differences. A defining trait is Mika's eyes being somewhat deep-set, [giving definition to the area above his eyes]. To keep his hairstyle from being too messy, his hair is lightly brushed towards his nape, which keeps his look balanced. The ends of his side bangs have an intriguing upward turn to them.”
